Breakfast Around the World
FALL 2019 - BREAKFAST AROUND THE World
Join us as we travel near and far in search of rich flavors and experiences! Each week, students will prepare a traditional breakfast dish from a new country. We’ll make Russian blini, Filipino fried rice, waffles from Belgium, cornmeal porridge from Jamaica, and much more. Along the way, we’ll discuss how our lived experiences are both different from and similar to others at our school, in our community, and around the world.
Each class will meet once a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays for 14 weeks. All classes are open to students in grades K-5.
September 3-December 12 (no classes week of November 25)

All classes meet from 8:00am-9:00am. Due to our daily safety overview, students must arrive by 8:00am in order to participate in the day’s lesson.
Only current Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy students enrolled in the YMCA morning program may participate in Breakfast Around the World. Spaces are limited and will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis. You can find the YMCA morning program application here.
